Sunday Lunch at The Fuzzy Duck

February 2018: We’re just back from Sunday Lunch at The Fuzzy Duck in Armscote, a fantastic experience and one I couldn’t wait to share.

Bright, cosy and perfect

When you first arrive at The Fuzzy Duck, the building, the feel and the outside atmosphere instantly gives a little something away and you get the idea that inside will be warm, welcoming and have the bright and cosy look of the perfect Cotswold dining pub. And you’re not disappointed, because that is in fact exactly what greets you when you walk through the door.

A beautiful dining pub

The Fuzzy Duck in Armscote is a beautiful dining pub in the Cotswolds with a light and airy feel and well laid out with several little corners and nooks creating a lovely space for every table. We were served at various times throughout our lunch by 4 different members of staff, all of whom were friendly, engaging and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble.

A good Sunday Lunch in the Cotswolds

I’ve said it before, ‘There’s nothing like a good Sunday Lunch in the Cotswolds’, and today this statement came true for us once more. In a cosy, warm and beautiful setting we enjoyed an incredibly delicious Sunday Lunch, lovingly and expertly created with bold and traditional flavours in mind from the best local and seasonal produce. Our Sunday Lunch experience at The Fuzzy Duck today: perfection!

Local Farm produce

On the Sunday Lunch menu are 3 main choices: Beef or pork from Todenham Manor Farm and leg of lamb from Lightorne Farm, both farms local to The Fuzzy Duck and both farms known far and wide for their top quality produce. Today we chose the beef and pork dishes, both were incredibly delicious.

Best Eton Mess ever

But no Sunday Lunch is complete without a sweet finish, and My Oh My, did we have a sweet finish! We went for the tonka Bean Crème Brulee, the Strawberry & Raspberry Eton Mess ad the Banoffee tart. And judging by the look on my fellow diners’ faces, their puds were as scrumptiously delicious as mine, but I didn’t taste theirs and I most certainly didn’t share mine ; ) so all I can say is this: Best Eton Mess ever! I luuurve a good Eton Mess and few things make me happier than an Eton Mess created with the perfect cream-berries-meringue ratio, and that was exactly what I had today… just perfect!
